Yes. Another one. What can I say? Nothing. Just enjoy it.

* Went to lunch with BarbieGirl the other day. Greek! Yummy! I had the chicken souvlki  (no tomatoes) and it rocked.
We went to a place called Ambrosia. I had been there before but it was the first time for BarbieGirl.
The food is absolutely wonderful. And when you ask for extra feta you get a crumpled brick of it. More than enough for the whole table. The pita is warm and soft and the chicken was marinated and cooked beautifully.
We sat outside on the patio and ate watched the people go on buy. We then went to a pet store where I felt quilted into buying $7.00 catnip.

* The Queen’s one cat Jasper has taken to visiting on a regular basis. Much to my cats’ dismay.  The first time was while I was carrying groceries upstairs. When I was done I went into the living room and there was Jasper just sitting in Mr. Gow’s chair. Looking at me like “Oh. Are you back?”
He has since taken to crying to come up. Yesterday I left the door open a crack so he could go up. And he did. I found him sitting in the (of all places) the bathroom window.
Dragonwyck was very unhappy about the whole thing. She hissed at me all night. The others were more confused than anything.

* I’ve been getting some stuff done. We haven’t fully unpacked and Mr. Gow’s  family will be here in 2 weeks. I did manage the bathroom yesterday. We just have to put up the new curtain and lay down the new little rug. Then that will be two rooms done! Yay!
And can I just say WOW to how many half full shampoo, bath gel, lotion bottles I threw out? I can not believe how that gathers up so quickly.

* I finally saw Warehouse 13 the other night.  I tried to watch it once but was distracted by people and things. I think I may enjoy this one. It sort of reminds me of Special Unit 2, Sanctuary and the X-Files all rolled up into a new show.
We’ll see how it goes.
Also, Drop Dead Diva was cute. I liked it.

* Then there was the bad news. An acquaintance passed away. I didn’t know him well, but as I wrote to my friend I know how close they were  and he was always kind when I saw him.  I am sad not only for his family but for my friend as well.
He also never gave me grief about taking his picture. Even though the flash on my camera is brutal.

Snackie Knows and So Do I

I was over visiting Snackiepoo's Snackie Sunday earlier today.  I understand the topic this week very well. I thought of leaving a comment ( I may still) it just seemed it would be far to long a list of grief for a simple comment. Some already know about all of this. Feel free to run over to her blog while the rest finishing reading.

Here we go:

* The floors are beyond uneven.
* The basement smells.  A LOT.
* The kitchen sink and floor never seem to come clean. There is always a white color film-like thing going on. I’ve used cleanser and it still won’t come clean.
* The kitchen floor and hall are made of very small roundish tiles. I hate tile. It’s over-rated if you don’t have a cleaning lady to clean it for you. I never want to hear the word tile ever again. Stupid stupid tile.
* The windows aren’t quite closed up at the bottom. Which means every kind of bug comes on in when it gets cold at night.
* No washer and dryer. Mom bought a washer but not a dryer. It requires a special hookup. Even if we did get one it would have to go into the basement and yeah, did I mention it smells. A LOT. (Side note: Anyone know just how much lint gets on a sweater when it’s washed with a towel? I do! I do! A LOT!)
* The kitchen is a cave. I think there may actually be a  family of bears sleeping in the cabinet.  To find your way around you need a 400 watt lamp.
* The heating and cooling vents are on the floor. That means less space to put furniture.  I hear it’s a bad thing to cover them up.
* Trying to open some of the doors is like a fight to the death. The doors are winning.
* And lets not forget the bathroom window. It’s situated right next to the toilet. Literally. You can look out over the backyard or the neighbors porch while you pee.  I imagine they can see us pee while they flip burgers on their grill.
* It’s also a much longer walk than one thinks to get to the bathroom. It’s about a quarter of a mile from the front of the apartment.  That was a ton of fun when I was on the Lasix.

I can say the front porch is the best part. The Queen and I sit outside when it’s not storming or cold. So we’ve sat out there four or five times already.

So there is the joy that is my newish home.

Winter should bring yet more surprises and fun.

More not enough's for a long post. So here’s another round of A Bit of This and A Bit of That.

* Today was the first day we had a full day of sun. I’m seriously done with the rain. With being cold and damp. Done. Done. Done.
It’s supposed to be in the 80’s this week. I hope that’s true.

* I was able to go to dialysis in the morning today. It was weird not knowing anyone, but it was nice being home at 1PM instead of 11PM.

* I was so grumpy this past week or three that most of my posts are just blah blah blah. Poor me. And what happens when you do that? You miss all the good stuff. Or you just don’t think to post about the good stuff. With that I was negligent in several B-Day wishes.
First up Shash. You can read her blog  at Diary of a Crazed Mommy.
Then there was Miss Britt’s husband, but in all honesty, I’ve never met or follow him on Twitter or anything. I have only read about him, so it’s a bit like wishing a character in a book a Happy B-Day.
As if that is the weirdest thing I’ve ever done.
It is also HelloNarfNarf’s B-Day. And you can read her blog at Midnight Cliff.
Happy Belated B-day to all!!!! :)

I hope I remembered everyone.  I’m sorry if I have forgotten anyone.

* Karl is having his Summer of Love over at his blog. It’ll be full of guest posters. Definitely a fun way to find new bloggers to love. He even spiffied it up for the occasion.

* Is anyone else finding the Golden Ticket thing creepy? Is MJ now Willy Wonka? Is Neverland a secret candy-making factory? Who oh who will take care of the Oompa Loompas!
The whole thing makes my skin crawl.

* Things went just as they did on Thursday. If not worse. So that means I can take my Xanax on Tuesday! Yay! Many will be pleased.

* The Tour de France started this weekend. I know everyone is all Oh Lance Oh Lance. Sorry. I can’t do it. You have your wins man. It’s time to let the next generation have their chance.  No one will break your record. It’s okay to move over to the desk.  You will not be forgotten. I promise.
With that out of the way, one should watch if for no other reason than the young men in spandex riding through France.

* And for my Neopetters, the Cup is done tonight. I only managed 500 games. That placed me at Rank 8. Wish I could have done more, but life just didn’t give me the time or energy.
But even with my performance, Team Maraqua seems to holding on to either 6th or 5th place. I do believe that’s our best showing ever. Yay team!

I hope everyone had a great weekend and that the week coming up proves to be mellow and warm :)

Update

Fireworks were tonight apparently.

WTF!

So whatever for tomorrow night. I plan on sitting on the porch drinking and eating my chips.

Alleghany fireworks on the 2nd. Niagara Falls fireworks on the 3rd.
That was what the website said when I checked it.

I wasn’t the only one thinking tomorrow. There were hardly any people out for them.

To hell with the Casino.

This has been one crappy ass day. Seriously.
More later.

I’m listening to Secondhand Radio and sulking.

Watch As The Garden Grows

The last few days have been pretty mellow. Despite the whole doctor fiascos.
The Queen and I headed to the library and grocery store yesterday. Picked up chips and dip for Friday.

Yes. Friday! Casino fireworks are on Friday night. I image at the usual 9:30- 10:00Pm time.
I’ll have to check.

So anyone looking to watch is welcome.

And those that we know are welcome to chips and dip. Maybe even a beer as well :)

I am hoping I can get out for a few hours on Friday night. the unit is closed for the holiday, so I get to on Sunday.
Which means I could go out on Friday. For a little bit.
Fingers crossed!!!

As I said there’s not much going on this week.

I grabbed some pictures of the flowers growing amuck.
Enjoy the summer’s pretty colors.
